"The most noteworthy thing about gardeners is that they are always optimistic, always enterprising, and never satisfied."--Vita Sackville-West, 1892-1962

How true! And isn't this the time of year when we gardeners are most optimistic about our gardens, with visions of grand borders and opulent containers like we've never had before. We make lists of plants that we saw while touring other gardens, or spied in a glorious gardening journal. And of course there are all the new introductions!

Campanula 'Kent Belle'
w/ Alchemilla mollis

It has been our mission from the start to seek out and grow plants that are out-of-the-ordinary. We try to offer plants that are more than just uncommon, but also have appeal over a long period in the garden, with attractive form and foliage. This year we have some great new plants to introduce to you.

A few of our new Perennials are:
Corydalis elata--A blue flowered variety that puts up with New England summer weather without becoming dormant, blooming May-July.
Kniphofia 'Little Maid'--A compact little torch lily, at 2', with creamy yellow pokers in mid-late summer.
Stachys byzantina 'the Phantom'--a variegated Lamb's ear with creamy yellow and pale grey-green softly textured foliage.

Grasses and Sedges Carex, Festuca 'Golden Toupee',Panicum -Setaria palmifolia

Annuals/Tender Perennials so-many to tempt you! More Coleus. We offer 30 great named varieties! Bold and Bodacious Cannas! Lovely delicate Diascias! Elegant Centaurea gymnocarpa! Saucy Mimulus (White Flower Farm is now offering a selection we've grown for years!) Fancy-leaved Pelargoniums. Fabulous Phormiums, Salvia 'Waverly'.
Watch for updates to this list throughout the spring!

Trees and Shrubs are the backbone of the garden and we offer more exceptional varieties. Variegated Forsythia 'Fiesta', Hydrangea 'Dooley' , that's reportedly frost proof! Viburnum 'Summer Snowflake --A viburnum that blooms spring to fall!
